Prayer Request

Making disciples, rather than church members, through teaching converts the commands of the Lord Jesus Christ. (Matthew 28:19- 20)

To give accreditation to those who confess that Jesus Christ is Lord and to do a greater work for the cause of Christ. (John 14:12)

To see the church reclaim the name "Christians" as to who we are in practice versus what we believe. (Acts 11:26)

The discipleship class is a one year commitment to faithfully attend and apply oneself in learning and applying the forty- nine commands of Christ.

Please contact Minister Donald Easley at or Minister Titus Pearson at for more information.

(Formerly Sunday School)

Each family’s house is a Christ-centered home, by each family member living a Christ-centered life! (Joshua 24:15 & Galatians 2:20)

The purpose of the Life Learning Ministry is to instruct men (Titus 2:2, Ezekiel 22:30), women (Titus 2:3, I Timothy 2:9-10), young adults (Titus 2:4-8), and children (II Timothy 3:15, Proverbs 22:6) in Biblical doctrines and principles that will enable them to be disciples of Jesus Christ (John 8:31-32).

Vision: Proverbs 29:18

The vision is that families be strengthened in the Lord (Psalm 127:1). Men will be godly fathers, husbands, and leaders. Women will be godly mothers, wives, and examples to other women. Young adults will grow to be mighty men and virtuous women. The children will be obedient to the Lord, their parents, and those in authority. Through this, others will see the commitment to Christ and be drawn to see how someone lives for the Lord, and to hear the Word of God.

Life Learning classes are held every Sunday morning at 9:30AM. If you have any questions about our Life Learning class, please contact Minister Titus Pearson at

To reach men with the truth of God’s Word so they may see their need for Christ and His salvation, and understand their position of authority and power that is in Christ against the adversary.

The purpose of the Men’s Ministry is to help men to understand the dynamics of their role as men and how they can impact their generation and that of their children.

The vision:  Men everywhere praying, lifting up holy hands, without wrath and doubting as to make up a hedge around their families, churches, and communities and to stand in the gap for the nation. (I Timothy 2:8)
“And I sought for a man among them that should make up the hedge, and stand in the gap before me for the land, that I should not destroy it: but I found none.” (Ezekiel 22:30)

Each month on every third Saturday at 8:30 am, the men of Tabernacle come together for a time of fellowship. It is during this time that they will receive Biblical instructions, relevant to their personal responsibilities as men, husbands, and fathers.  Three times in the year, the men of Tabernacle, in response to a Biblical mandate, will call for a holy assembly of all males; whereby they may be challenged and inspired to assume their God-given role of leadership in the home, church, and community. (Exodus 23:17)

If you are interested in attending a men's fellowship, please contact Pastor Jeffery Wheeler at

Come and be apart of this all male ministry, turning the hearts of men today to impact tomorrow’s generations.

TBC views missionaries as an extension of the Church’s mission to preach the gospel of Jesus Christ in all the world and to teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost (the Great Commission). To that end, the church supports those home and foreign missionaries whom the TBC leadership believe are Spirit-filled and are being effectively used be the Holy Spirit to fulfill the Great Commission. (Matthew 28:19-20, Acts 26:22).

The purpose of the missions ministry is to:1) bring to the attention of the TBC congregation potential missionaries to be considered for on-going financial support, 2) keep the TBC congregation apprised of the progress and prayer requests of missionaries support by it and 3) encourage the membership to pray for the missionaries and their family and to correspond with them, and 4) encourage the missionaries and their families through financial support and various means of communications.

The vision is that God would use TBC to support missionaries on every continent of the world; especially in those countries located in the-called 1040 Window where it is estimated that two-thirds of the world’s population live. The 10/40 Window is home to the majority of the world's unevangelized countries and home to the majority of the world’s poor. An estimated 2.79 billion individuals live in approximately 6,126 unreached people groups. (Matthew 24:14, Revelation 14:6)

To touch the heart of God so that through faith all things may become possible. To increase the faith of believers and build personal discipline in their prayer lives. (Mark 11:22-24)

The purpose of the prayer chain is that Christ may be greatly glorified in His church through the answer of prayer; and that through constant prayer, revival may break out in the church and throughout the world. (II Chronicles 7:14)

The vision is to have believers from around the world touching and agreeing in constant prayer for twenty-four hours, seven days a week.

The prayer chain ministry is a concept whereby the principle of constant prayer is maximized while the burden of maintaining constant prayer is minimized. Rather than one person bearing the burden of praying constantly for twenty-four hours, the burden is shared with others. Twenty-four people touching and agreeing concerning a specific prayer request form a chain of twenty-four links. Each link represents a prayer partner who prays constantly for one hour. Like a domino effect, each prayer chain member bears the burden of praying for one hour in succession to each other until the twenty-four hours are completed. (Matthew 18:19-20)

If you have questions about the prayer chain or would like to be a part, please send an email to

To preach the good news of the gospel to those who are in prison; to heal the brokenhearted; to preach deliverance to those that are held captives by addictions; and to help recovery the spiritual sight of those who are blind. (Luke 4:18-19; Acts 26:17-20)

The purpose of the prison ministry is that by preaching the gospel, the power of God may be demonstrated in breaking the chains of bondage and setting the captive free! (Acts 16:25-34)

The vision is that God would pour out His Spirit upon the prison system and shake the very foundation of hell and open the prison doors and loosen the shackles of sin. (II Corinthians 3:17)

Unshackled is a prison ministry in which ministers in the Alexandria City prison system bringing the good news of the gospel to inmates and their loved ones. Sharing life learning principles found in the Word of God helps them see life from a Biblical perspective. Unshackled conducts Life Learning Classes on Mondays and Thursdays, from 9:00 am to 10:45 am. The first Sunday of every odd month, evening services are held at the jail from 7:00 pm to 8:30 pm.

TABERNACLE BAPTIST YOUTH MINISTRY(Touching hearts and changing minds one day at a time)

We, at Tabernacle Baptist Church (TBC), are excited and filled with great expectation of how God will be using the youth ministry in 2013 to impact our youth for Christ. The TBC Youth Ministry is a Christ-centered, Bible-based ministry that focuses on promoting character instead of standards. By the grace of God, as we add to our youth’s faith virtue, we hope to see our youth abound in their spiritual growth and fruitfulness in the knowledge of our Lord Jesus Christ. (See II Peter 1:5-8)

Reaching the youth with the gospel of Jesus Christ and equipping them with Bible principles that will assure God’s blessings upon their lives. (See Deuteronomy 5:33; Ephesians 6:1-3)

Teaching the fear of the Lord, the value of wisdom, the necessity character, and the reproves of life. Thus, gaining the spiritual maturity to discern what is good and evil. (See Proverbs 1:1-7; Hebrews 5:13-14)

The youth would become mighty in spirit abiding in the word of God, living a life which is an advertisement for the Christian faith and gives glory to God. (See I John 2:14; I Peter 5:8)

What's In A Name?:

In the scriptures, God likens our children to arrows. This assigns them a purpose and a destiny. It is based upon this wonderful truth that we have given the youth ministry the name: YWAP, Youth With A Purpose. Our goal at TBC is to assist parents in guiding and nurturing their children to fly straight and have their lives count for all eternity.

Age Group:

TBC Youth Ministry ministers to children, ages six to seventeen years old. With the diversity of ages, the older youth take on the responsibility of being group leaders. Group leaders are an asset and support the instructors in class activities and scheduled events. Group leaders are  challenged to be an example in character development and biblical application. There will be times where the group will divide in order to allow the older children to receive a more age appropriate instruction.

Youth Meetings:

A typical youth meeting consists of biblical instructions, singing, drama, activities, and loads of fun and fellowship. The meetings also consist of prayer, personal testimonies, and a God-honoring atmosphere.

Activities & Events:

TBC Youth Ministry has a schedule of meetings, activities and events for 2013 and encourages parents to please mark them on their calendar. (see list of events below) It is our goal at TBC that our youth develop a real passion for the things of God. Our activities and events will consist of things such as missionary trips, where our youth can get a hands-on experience for the mission field; youth camp where they can fellowship with youth from different parts of the country; youth outings that provide a time of fun and fellowship; evangelistic outreaches which allow them to learn the importance of sharing the gospel, and so much more. Big things happen with big plans and that is the goal of this ministry… so that God may do big things.

How Do I Sign Up?:

Enrolling your child into the ministry is very simple. Parents who are interested will be required to sign a statement of faith and an agreement that will ensure that activities in the home will not be in conflict or weaken the scriptural instructions that their youth will be receiving from the ministry. They also must agree to faithfully support their child in their attendance, home projects, and any other discipline that may be needed. TBC Youth Ministry plays a supportive role to the parents in the spiritual development of their children and is fully aware that without the support of the parents, our efforts would be in vain.

To glorify God by growing and glowing.

Growing involves:

  • planting (the Word of God)
  • watering (bathed in prayer)
  • and God will bring the increase!!
Glowing is based on the following Scriptures:

“Ye are the light of the world. A city that is set on an hill cannot be hid.”  (Matthew 5:14)
“Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father which is in heaven.” (Matthew 5:16)

The vision is that young girls be taught (guided by the Holy Spirit) what it means to live for Christ.  The impact will be that Jesus will be lifted up, and He will draw men unto Himself.
This ministry, in fulfillment of the Holy Scriptures, is important because it:
  • allows the older to teach the younger (Titus 2:3-4)
  • provokes one another to love and to good works, not forsaking the assembling of ourselves together but exhorting one another, and so much the more as ye see the day approaching (Hebrews 10:24-25)
  • helps young girls continue in the Holy Scriptures that hast been learned and assured of since from a child and thereby, making them wise unto salvation through faith which is in Christ Jesus (II Timothy 3: 14-15)
  • causes the influence from generation to generation to be evident (II Timothy 1:5); that we may be able to teach others (II Timothy 2:2)
The Lord will bring young girls to our church that will need to learn, in depth, the things of God.  In turn, as they live and apply this knowledge, their lives will be liGhts, demonstrating a   Genuine Relationship with the Lord Jesus Christ drawing others to Him.

liGhts classes are held every Monday at 7:30PM for young girls, aged 9-18. If you would like more information on the liGhts class, please contact Elizabeth Codjoe at
